Guitar Lessons

Vox Music Academy can take you in any direction you want to take them – jazz, metal, blues, indie or even a bit of flamenco or western classical music. All our guitar teachers have studied extensively. All our teachers are opened up to many different styles, drawing on influences from Spain, Portugal, the Middle East and even a touch of Indian R_ga. But if you just simply wanna rock it out, our teachers can help you, having played in a multitude of rock outfits all around Melbourne!

The approach to theory taken in lessons is very hands on, focusing on patterns and memory techniques to allow the student to 'play what they think' as quickly and as freely as possible. Pitching exercises are also given to encourage the student to play by ear, whilst encouraging the student to learn their favourite songs, not by the use of notation or tabs, but by the ear alone.

Energetic and friendly, our teachers are keen to discuss and assist you with your musical concepts and ideas as articulation is the key to understanding. So bring along your original tunes or cover renditions for a fun workout!
Whilst the focus is on general musical development, our guitar teachers can also teach to the AMEB syllabus to help you succeed in your exams and career qualifications.
