"I have played guitar for 8yrs, been singing seriously within bands for 6 and have generally always written songs. I did a Certificate II in Music Performance at NMIT. Instead of further study, I persued being in a band instead. My sightreading and theory is foundational really."
His experience is drawn from being in numerous bands around Melbourne including most currently, Zen, a quirky metal outfit, along with his study at NMIT.
His interests also lie in songwriting within his own project. Cameron enjoys the technical side of training singers, but more importantly inspiring his students. Going above and beyond by really getting inside music itself.
Through his influences and musical background, he has the ability to accommodate for a range of styles. Jazz/Blues/Metal/RnB/Rock and in between. His approach is communicative and philosophical.
Ryan Vox - Singing Teacher
Ryan has been a BIG fan of singing since he started singing along to his older brothers collection of CD's in the living room when he was a kid. His influences as a child were Dire Straits, Queen, Foreigner, Michael Jackson, John Farhnam, Pink Floyd, The Travelling Wilburies, Seal and DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. When Silverchair came out with 'Tomorrow' in 1994, this blew his mind and immediately inspired him to do a few things including finish off year 12 (and not drop out), start up guitar and singing lessons AND to grow this hair long!
This is where Ryans singing tuition began... right here with Peter Vox himself! Ryan has been learning singing under Peter since he was 17 in 1995/6 and has since pursued a music performance certificate at MWT which he is currently completing.
Although he is a well educated and passionate singer who is singing at open mic nights throughout Melbourne, his main passion at the moment is collaborating with other artists and with teaching. His ultimate goal is to be able to travel, sing and teach... all at the same time!!
Ryan has also been an active part of the theatre community with his acting, in shows such as "A Streetcar Named Desire", "The Crucible" and "The Visions of Simone Marchard".
Ryan is currently teaching on Saturday's at the Dandenong Studio.
